Hardik Pandya, Jasprit Bumrah Likely To Be Rested For West Indies Tour 


Team India is all set to tour West Indies after a gap of two years. India last went to the Caribbeans in 2017 at the end of the Champions Trophy. India will be looking to hit the ground running after the disappointing end to their World Cup campaign. India bowed out of the competition at the semifinal stage after losing to New Zealand.
However, India might struggle a bit against West Indies as some big names will miss at least the limited-overs format of the tour. Allrounder Hardik Pandya and pacer Jasprit Bumrah are two of the big names who are likely to miss the ODIs and the T20Is. Pandya is likely to take a break from the series to tend to an over-worked back. On the other hand, Bumrah will look to keep himself fresh for the Test series.
MS Dhoni can also be rested for the tour amidst the speculations over his future. Openers Shikhar Dhawan and Prithvi Shaw are also not fully fit at the moment. Both the players are still recovering from their respective injuries. India will announce the squad on Sunday.
The tour of West Indies will be starting from August 3rd. India will play three each ODIs and T20Is before heading to the 2-match Test series, which is a part of the World Test Championship.

2nd T20I – August 4 at Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground, Lauderhill, Florida
3rd T20I – August 6 at Providence Stadium, Guyana
1st ODI – August 8 at Providence Stadium, Guyana
2nd ODI – August 11 at Queen’s Park Oval, Port of Spain, Trinidad
3rd ODI – August 14 at Queen’s Park Oval, Port of Spain, Trinidad
1st Test – August 22-August 26 at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, North Sound, Antigua
2nd Test – August 30 – September 3 at Sabina Park, Kingston, Jamaica
