West Indies vs India: BCCI Reveals Squad For The Test Series

India will look to strengthen their position at the top of the ICC Test Ranking when they go up against West Indies in the two-match Test series. The Test series which starts from August 22 will be a part of the upcoming World Test Championship.

India announce a strong squad

The last Virat Kohli & Co played a Test series was against India earlier this year. They defeated the Aussies 2-1 at their home ground for the first time to script history. The bowlers did a fantastic work well backed by the batsmen led by Virat Kohli to outplay the Australians who were without David Warner and Steven Smith due to suspensions for the ball-tampering scandals. Despite, the Asian giants played some of the best crickets in the last few years to win the Border-Gavaskar trophy.

India will look to make a strong start to the Test Championship which will run for two years before the finals in England in 2021. Wriddhiman Saha has made a comeback to the Test squad after recovering from injury while Prithvi Shaw is still out with injury. Otherwise, the squad remains the same with Mayank Agarwal likely to open with KL Rahul.
The Test series will commence after the end of the limited-overs series. Antigua will host the first Test, which will run from August 22 to 26 while Jamaica will host the final and the second match. It will start from August 30 to September 3 to mark the end of the tour.

Here is the India squad for the Test series against West Indies:

Virat Kohli (Captain), Ajinkya Rahane (VC), Mayank Agarwal, KL Rahul, C Pujara, Hanuma Vihari, Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant (WK) Wriddhiman Saha (WK), Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav, Ishant Sharma, Mohammed Shami, Jasprit Bumrah, Umesh Yadav
